📌 Job Role Overview
As the Head of Internal Audit, the selected candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and leading the internal audit framework of the institution. The role involves ensuring robust internal controls, strong compliance systems, operational transparency, and enterprise-wide risk mitigation. The position also plays a key part in safeguarding the company’s governance and regulatory alignment.
📌 Key Responsibilities
1. Audit Strategy & Governance
Develop, refine, and implement the Internal Audit strategy, methodology, and risk-based audit plan.
Ensure alignment with business objectives and regulatory requirements.
2. Regulatory & Compliance Oversight
Ensure compliance with SBP regulations, EMIs guidelines, and internal policies.
Act as a key point of coordination with regulatory bodies.
3. Operational, Financial & Technology Audits
Lead audits across operational workflows, financial transactions, IT systems, cybersecurity, and governance practices.
4. Risk Management & Controls
Strengthen risk management frameworks.
Evaluate internal controls to mitigate risk across all business functions.
5. Reporting to Board & Audit Committees
Present independent audit findings, risks, and improvements.
Provide recommendations to senior leadership and the Audit Committee.
6. Fraud Detection & Prevention
Lead fraud detection processes, investigations, and reporting mechanisms.
7. Stakeholder Collaboration
Work closely with business units, regulatory teams, technology departments, finance, and compliance functions.
8. Continuous Improvement
Recommend compliance enhancements and system improvements aligned with industry best practices.

🎓 Education
Minimum 16 years of education in:
Accounting
Finance
Business Administration
Or a related field
Master’s degree preferred.
📜 Professional Certifications (Preferred):
CIA (Certified Internal Auditor)
CA (Chartered Accountant)
ACCA
CISA (Certified Information Systems Auditor)

🔹 Internal Audit Leadership
Minimum 8 years of internal audit experience.
At least 4–6 years in a leadership role, preferably within financial services, fintech, or banking.

Experience auditing:
Mobile wallets
Digital payments
EMIs
Banking operations
Telcos
Insurance companies
🔹 Regulatory Knowledge
Strong familiarity with SBP regulations, EMIs guidelines, AML/CFT frameworks, and governance compliance.
